Community gardens are in really poor shape - lots of weeds above my head in neighboring gardens, lots of diseased plants in neighboring gardens, rotting veggies in many gardens and no maintenance from Park District. Contract with Park District states a promised mow down of plots not planted by July 1st, maintaining of walking paths overgrown with weeds, and prior plot preparation by park district amounted to only a surface cultivation. We amended with compost and deep tilled our own plots. We really need a serious plowing!! We also need a Park District committed to their contract and holding gardeners accountable for not following the contract rules!! FVPD is dropping the ball!!
