I use a tow strap that is about 4� wide and has a smooth surface to go around the pumpkin. I still include a blanket to reduce the chance of damage to the pumpkin skin. Going slow to take the slack out of the system is important, and then, once tight, the pumpkin tends to move easily especially with the double layer of mill fabric it is on.
