Crunching numbers crunching numbers ..... Ok so. This is the big megabloom on the D.S. DomxBZ plant in the extension box. It is my best late tomato. At dap 38 it is 20 1/2". My best tomato so far this year (3.88 Luers) was 22 7/8 at dap 38 but blushed on one lobe at dap 39. This tomato is still green and hard. It is also more filled in than the 3.88 (should be heavier). If I get good growth for the next 10 days it might hit 4lbs. Now what happens if it's still very green on October 5. Should I let it go 7 more days to the oct 15 weighoff? The Oct 5th weighoff is my hometown and had prize money for the biggest tomato. The other factor is if I let it go to the 15th and it has stayed green it could potentially break the Colorado state record. I almost hope it blushes in the next few days so I won't have to make such hard decisions. :)
