            | Mike F. | Hanson Ma | I have a seed that has good lineage. 1329dmg Beachemin-12 went 14% heavy.(1161 Rodonis x 1421 stelts)Does it mean this seed was officially weighed? What would the possible problems be planting dmg seeds or is it not a concern and could produce a good pumpkin if planted. What would be a way of telling if dmg is genetic or unfortunate out come for the pumpkin | 10/18/2013 7:55:06 PM |

            | cojoe | Colorado | yes it would be a legit weight. Dmg means a hole in the fruit or a sig. soft spot. | 10/18/2013 9:32:28 PM |

            | Bubba Presley | Muddy Waters | Anything you plant is a gamble.DMG could produce a monster | 10/19/2013 7:43:04 AM |

            | Walking Man | formerly RGG | Some growers stay away from the seeds from damaged pumpkins. The thought is there is a greater likelihood of damaged progeny from seed from a damaged kin. Personally, I think it makes little difference. | 10/19/2013 8:14:40 AM |

            | Junior | Ankeny, Iowa | I would consider more variables than just weather or not the fruit was damaged to decide if a seed was a good seed or not. Such as what kind of damage the fruit had ie: dill ring, rib split, blossom split etc... I would go ahead and plant the seed and see what you get. You never know you might end up with a good pumpkin next year. | 10/20/2013 8:11:45 PM |

            | PumpkinBrat | Paradise Mountain, New York | There has been several with pumpkins and squash being damage and the seed ends up being a great seed | 10/20/2013 11:28:52 PM |

            | kurty | Cedar Lake, IN. | 1789 est Wallace. I'd plant this seed over and over again. | 10/21/2013 12:44:49 PM |

            | big moon | Bethlehem CT | Dmg wouldn't scare me off either. | 10/22/2013 7:24:44 PM |

            | Pumpkineer | Marshfield, Ma, USA | I grew my first pumpkin over 1000 pounds in 2007 from the 1340DMG Kline. I had faith in it. | 10/23/2013 8:07:49 AM |

            | Pumpking | Germany | My PB (929.5 lbs) was grown off the 1723(dmg) Marshall. Nice plant, excellent fruit...went heavy and hasn´t had any damage. | 10/23/2013 1:49:50 PM |

            | Mike F. | Hanson Ma | You are confirming my thoughts. I haven't found enough statistics to prove damage comes from genetics.I do believe it's lick of the draw with growing. | 10/23/2013 5:07:45 PM |
