            | Doug14 | Minnesota([email protected]) | Do think a cross such as (723 Bobier X 846 Calai) X (846 Calai X 723 Bobier) would achieve essentially the same result as a (723 Bobier X self) X (846 Bobier X self).Or would the order of the crossing likely mix the genetics up differently?

 Also, have any of you grown a 712 Kuhn X 846 Calai cross, or a 801.5 Stelts X 723 Bobier, 845 Bobier, or a 712 Kuhn?
Or do you know of any pumkins grown of these combinations?
 Thanks.

 Doug

            | CEIS | In the shade - PDX, OR | Martin from Germany made an 801.5 X 845 this year. Many of the heavy hitters have made the crosses that you have listed above.

Doug - Your 1st ? is difficult to answer. Genetics always seem to be a crap shoot. Although they are *similar* the genes in every seed from the same pumpkin can potentially show variation. With the 723 & 846 X self crosses your talking about 2 generations where a great deal of variation could occur.

The 723 X 846 is a very good cross & has yielded some great fruit. I believe that the AGGC has this research in it's "free" area if you want to take a closer look.

Select the "best of the best" option & follow the drop downs for the 846 & 723.

            | Mr. Orange | Hilpoltstein, Bavaria, Germany | Mikkal,
 How many 801.5 X 845 (or 845 X 801.5) crosses have been made?

 Martin

PS: I will have seeds available from this cross in about one month.
