Depends... on when you want them done.
Eaters and handouts will be started here in 3-4 weeks to be uppotted a few times and hardened off to be planted out last week of May or first week of June; Nick Harp started his 7# of 2009 beginning of June.
A week to sprout, a few weeks to 4 leaf, uppot at least once to get rid of legging... 1-2 weeks of hardening off... Count back to how big you want them when they go out. And how much protection you're willing to rig for the first 2-4 weeks they go out. Here frost date is 12 May and we can have some dubious nights for a few more weeks until it starts turning WARM.

Our 7.33 was germinated in early June. We start that late so they will be ready for the weigh offs in early Oct.

We are very happy to hear that our mater seeds are all germinating well for growers. I can hardly wait until the season starts, so we can start ours. We might do a couple early ones just for kicks. Thank you all very much for giving our mater seeds a chance. We really do appreciate it. Good luck.
  Have fun, Jane & Phil
