            | Tim Pennington (Uncle Dunkel) | Corbin, KY | not here, I sow dry seeds in promix in a pot. Lightly cover on a heat mat they are up in a few days. | 5/5/2014 2:22:01 PM |

            | PA_J | Allentown, PA | I do not. I use Jiffy pellets that have been soaked in water. They expand and provide an excellent medium for starting tomato seeds. I plant the seeds in the expanded pellets then place them in a tray designed to hold them. That tray then goes onto a heat mat inside a small plastic tub with a lid.
I keep the temperature at approx. 85 F and have had germination as rapidly as three days after planting.

            | Marv. | On top of Brush Mountain, Pa. | I start my seeds in a small plastic cups of water. Once I see some small root popping out I put them in 7 ounce cups of potting soil. Within several days they break ground. | 5/5/2014 6:25:16 PM |

            | Marv. | On top of Brush Mountain, Pa. | The reason I do them in water is because some of the seeds are precious and I want to grow one plant for each pot and not waste any space or pots or seeds. | 5/7/2014 8:02:34 PM |
